Boomers account for 29%, while millennials account for 17%. Now in their peak earning years, Gen Xers are also benefiting from wealth transfers from older generations. According to Fed data, Gen Xers now hold more wealth than any generation other than boomers and are expected to become the wealthiest in the coming years.
